We arrived in Israel with our friends and their family at 3:15am. I think Nate was the only one who got a semi decent night’s sleep. So we picked up our rental cars, drove to the home we are staying at, and crashed for several hours.
We woke up, had a late lunch, and headed off to the beach… just a five minute drive away. We were shown the way to this particular beach by the house sitter of the people whose home we are staying in. There was hardly anyone there!

So does this BIG kid…he’s doing the Gangnam style dance out there! Bet you didn’t know that Andy can dance on water!

I got the whole group to pose like this, but instead of a “Praise God!” moment, it looks more like “Stop, don’t shoot!”
I think I must have touched the camera lense with a wet finger, because there’s a red circle on some of the photos, but they are still amazing shots to capture the lovely sunset.
It was a wonderful end to our first day in the Holy Land! Many more great days have followed since then. We’ve been to the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, as well as three days in Jerusalem. It’s amazing to see the city of David, to see where Jesus walked and taught, and to experience the sights and sounds of this fascinating country!
It sure is wonderful to walk these places with you. Thanks again!
We are looking forward to debriefing with you on our return!
it was wonderful meeting you in the Holy City Jerusalem. You are a very wonderful couple and loving. I pray that God will make a way for us to meet again. taking a Jerusalem tour with you was a big blessing, when I was left behind taking photos and videos, you will wait even come back to fetch me 🙂 Thank you and God bless you.
It was great to be a part of your first day in Jerusalem! I hope we will meet again, in Jerusalem or in Prague!
We have seen Beach and sun set – Hope u show us the entire Jerusalem – Nice pics
Stay tuned…I will post about Jerusalem in the next few weeks!
I am moving across the oceans (!) with my husband and three kids under 2. Any suggestions?
Sorry I took several days to reply, but we’ve been doing a lot of traveling! I looked at your blog and saw that you are moving to New Zealand. My grandmother was a Kiwi and I’ve been there several times…what a beautiful country you are moving to! The Kiwis are very friendly, too. I read that you are just a few weeks away from starting your new adventure…I remember that time of transition of being “homeless” while camping out with family. My suggestions…don’t worry about “stuff”. We sold or gave away most of our stuff and took only 6 suitcases and three carryons (but only one child went with us:). We kept about 20 boxes in the US, but other than photo albums and some memorabilia, I don’t even remember or care about what’s in storage (two years later). My suggestion for when you land is to find a way to connect and develop friendships…through finding a church, friends from your or your husband’s work, daycare, or other moms that you meet at the park. Your kids will lead you to friends…they are the best ambassadors! Seek out an expat community, if there is one. It’s great to make friends also with other expats who understand the highs and lows of moving abroad. Anyhow, hope that helps…let me know if you have any other questions!
